Precious Metal Jewelry
Precious Metal Clay or PMC is clay that consists of mostly silver, a small amount of water and organic binder to keep it in clay form. Different shapes are created with the clay using various textured tools. The piece is dried and sanded to a smooth finish then placed into a kiln for approximately 2 hours at a very high temperature. The water and the organic binder burn away and the piece becomes 99.9% pure fine silver. Liver of sulfur is then added to the piece to create the different patina.
The new Brozclay is worked the same as PMC, the only difference is each piece is kiln fired for 9 hours.
